The standard service package is designed to maintain your bike in optimal condition. This service has been refined over the years, ensuring that no detail is overlooked, allowing you to experience the difference upon its return.
Regular servicing is advised, to address minor issues before they escalate into more costly and potentially hazardous problems.
The Standard service is appropriate for a well-maintained bike that has not been ridden for more than 3-6 months since its last service. This is merely a guideline and can vary according to riding habits, weather conditions, and the quality of the components, etc.
The Standard service is NOT suitable for bikes that have not been serviced regularly or recently, or for those that have sustained damage or require multiple parts to be replaced simultaneously. For such cases, please consider the Advanced or Full service options, or call for further guidance.
Included in The Standard service:
(please be aware that some procedures may not be feasible if other issues are present with the bike – you will be informed of these in the Triage report)
- Visual safety inspection – assessment of the frame, forks, and all components (on-bike – no disassembly).
- PDF Triage report – a comprehensive condition report sent to you via email, including a detailed estimate of costs for your approval.
- Drivetrain servicing – inspection of the chain for wear, correct length, and lubrication. Evaluation of the cassette and freehub for wear/play. Inspection and torquing of chainring teeth and crankset bolts. Chain replacement is included if necessary.
- Gear servicing – alignment of the gear hanger, derailleurs, and proper calibration of shifters. Installation of new gear cables where required.
- Brake servicing – installation of brake pads and cables where necessary. Proper alignment of brake levers, calipers, and routing of cables.
- Wheel truing where viable
- Tyre Service – Tyres inspected for wear, and any puncture risks are addressed. Valve heads are aligned, and tyres are inflated to the maximum pressure as part of the safety assessment. If requested, tubeless sealant is replenished, and missing valve caps are replaced. (Note: Tube/tyre fitting is not included).
- Bearing Adjustments – Wheel nuts are tightened, and the bottom bracket, headset, and wheel bearings are examined for play or wear, with adjustments made where feasible.
- Peripheral Checks – Pedals, saddle, mudguard, rack, bottle cage bolts, and other accessories are inspected and torqued for safety. (Accessory fitting is not included).
- Handlebar Inspection – Missing bar end plugs are replaced as a standard safety measure. Levers are aligned for optimal comfort and safety, and stem bolts are tightened to the correct torque specifications.
- Test Ride – All bicycles undergo a road test to ensure full functionality before being returned. We keep the wheels attached, so you won’t need to worry about reassembling the axle nuts or brake callipers.
- Guarantee – Should you experience any issues related to the services provided (as outlined above), please inform us within 7 days of receiving your bike and we will resolve the problem at no additional cost.
